Randy Owen was the lead singer for Alabama, one of country music’s most loved groups during the 80’s and 90’s. The famous award-winning group sold over 73 million albums and received a spot in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Owen is no stranger to fame, leading Alabama to achieve 21 gold, platinum and multi-platinum records, 42 number one hits and a long list of awards. Some of Alabama’s hits include: “Dixieland Delight;” “Mountain Music;” “Tennessee River;” “When We Make Love;” and “Roll On (Eighteen Wheeler).” Owen is now setting out to conquer a solo career.

Randy’s first solo album, One on One, is due to hit the stores early this summer with a tour scheduled around the same time. One on One’s first single, “Braid my Hair,” is now out with 100% of the publishing royalties being donated to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “Braid my Hair” is an emotional song written by Chris Gray and Brent Wilson about a little girl living with cancer who has lost all of her hair due to chemo treatment. The little girl lives with the hope that one day she will be able to do something as simple as braiding her hair. Owen has been a long time supporter of finding a cure for child cancer.
